Start with an offline profile and just a display name. Each account keeps its own notes and preferences. Signing in does not move your offline notes; export and import when you want to transfer them. Cloud sync is off until you confirm it. Internet is needed for account services, sync, downloads and updates.

2 MB of cloud storage per account
Enough for 500+ short notes, depending on their size and formatting. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed note count. Longer or more heavily formatted notes take up more space.
The shared allowance counts note titles, structured content and formatting fields, folders and active reminder metadata. Drafts and Trash count too. The limit is based on storage used, rather than a fixed number of notes. Local storage has no Scribe quota, subject to device capacity.
